This week has been very quiet for the members of ARC.
As always we had many members supporting the local parkruns, despite the windy conditions, but there were no PB’s to record this week. We also had plenty of members out training with several groups undertaking different distances and routes.
The only race in which we had members participate was the popular Brass Monkey Half Marathon down in York. The route is flat and fast, looping southwards from the York Racecourse and the conditions were quite tough with rain and wind dampening the day.
First home (albeit running for Aycliffe Tri Club) was Trevor Dixon in 1.25.46, he was followed by Richard Holland in 1.36.53, Simon Mattahew Turner in 1.44.19, Kevin Wilson in 1.57.49, David Stothard in 2.08.16 and Ian Baronowski in 2.14.34.
For anyone interested in joining the club, you can simply turn up at one of our sessions all of which start from the Oakleaf Complex in Newton Aycliffe. Monday night is beginners run at 6.30p.m., Tuesday is endurance/speed session from 7.00 p.m., and Thursday is a track session and this takes place at Shildon Track. Further details can be found on our website or facebook pages or alternatively you can message the club via facebook for more information
